FASNY larchmont

Lycée Franco-Américain de New York (FASNY). Franco-American Education in Larchmont and Mamaroneck, in Westchester.

When FASNY opened in 1980, it had only a kindergarten class of 17 students and 3 teachers. Today it is a growing school installed on 3 campuses in Larchmont and Mamaroneck and hosting more than 800 students. The bilingual and bicultural education caters to American families, French expatriates, Franco-American families and families representing over 50 nationalities. Families at FASNY represent a great diversity of cultures and traditions that nourish the spirit of the school beyond the classroom walls.

The curriculum is demanding and ambitious; it conforms to both the traditional American program and the French official program. This dual program takes the best of both systems. 85% of teachers have advanced degrees, which is remarkable for a school of this size. Approved by the Ministry of Education in France, the Department of Education of the State of New York (New York State Education Department), and New York State Association of Independent Schools – (NYSAIS), FASNY is proud to be the only truly bilingual and bicultural school in the area. At the end of their schooling, students receive a FASNY diploma and are able to take the baccalaureate.

With the acceleration of globalization, greater cultural openness becomes essential. Our school focuses on understanding and acceptance of other cultures.
