Significance of Colors. Life is splashed with colors. Anywhere we look, we encounter different colors. Studies have shown that certain colors do make us feel certain emotions. Advertisers often put these colors in our way to exploit how we perceive them. So let’s take a look at the significance of some of the most common colors.
White: The color of innocence and purity. White is dynamic as it is not only a color in itself, but it is also in term of light the presence of all colors as white light can refract all colors when shown through a prism. In term of pigments it is the absence of color.
Black: It is the color of power and authority, Policemen and security guards wear such a dark blue as to almost appear black. It is a fashionista’s favorite as it makes the body appear thinner. Black is also the absence of light but in pigments a mixture of all colors can appear black.

Red: The most passionate color. It is the color of blood, courage and sacrifice. It is also associated with red rose and symbol of love. In Chinese culture it is synonymous of good luck. It is also a sign of hospitality and care, which is why there are red carpets at main events.
Orange: It is associated with warmth. Orange can stimulate enthusiasm and creativity. It is also the color most likely to get noticed in dim light or against water which is why the coast guard uses it as their go-go color.
Purple: It is the color of good judgment, often associated with royalty. It can suggest wealth and luxury.
Green: The color of nature and growth. Because of its symbolic ties to nature, it is also highly associated with fertility, health, creativity.
