Gisele Oriot (Founder) is originally from a lovely little village in the Beaujolais region of France, also known as wine country.  Lyon is the capital of this region and is well known for its gastronomy and food culture.  Gisele came to Texas about 20 years ago, where she met her husband and decided to stay awhile.  The only thing missing was all of the high quality gourmet food products she was surrounded with back home.  She missed her jams, Fleur de Sel, Dijon, and truffle products, so she decided to start a business around 1997 to bring all of those delicious products to her.  

Luckily, she decided to settle in Houston (the perfect place for import from Europe) and so The French Farm was born.  What started as a hobby, bringing in product for herself and friends, gradually grew into a very successful business when she realized the demand for gourmet food products in the American marketplace.  Now The French Farm distributes to restaurants and retailers all over the country and into Canada, and it’s growing each year. Gisele loves to travel back to France and Italy in search of new and exciting product for the US market and is dedicated to introducing them to kitchens and stores across the United States.
