The Alliance Française of Los Angeles is a non-profit organization. It is part of the Alliance Française global network that dates from 1883, when the Alliance Française de Paris was created. Today, there are over 1,135 Alliances Française chapters working in 138 countries across the globe. We all share a common mission of promoting the French language and Francophone cultures, in order to foster positive relations between Francophones and Francophiles of all ethnicities and nationalities. Currently, there are over 117 Chapters in the USA and Puerto Rico. The Alliance Française of Los Angeles is represented by its General Delegation at the French embassy in Washington, D.C., and is a member of the Federation of Alliances Françaises USA .
